It’s been a long time coming, but it feels like finally gigs are coming back in thick and fast!
Although we did have a brief spell last summer where work was beginning to come back in for a few events in bars and oudoors, big festivals and concerts weren’t able to go ahead. In spite of the government having to delay their total relaxation of restrictions by a month here in the UK, this time it feels different with more and more people having had either both jabs or their 1st jab (like me!), So I feel more hopeful that musicians will be able to get back to normal and do what they love best!
That being said, in my case and in many others, of over a year of next to no performances, it can be fairly daunting to get back into the swing of things and anxiety levels are running high!
I have a varied list of things coming up with jazz gigs at Kiplin Hall in Richmond with the Worth Valley Hot 7, Ryedale Jazz Festival with Gavin Lee’s New Orleans Band, and Boston Spa Jazz club with the Main Street Jazz Band; some original soul and funk with Weekend Sun at Festival by the Sea, Hardwick Hall live and Mish Mash Fesival; and also all round cover favourites with the UTC events band.
